Welcome to Hervey Bay or as our fifth-generation local family have always called it “Happy Hervey”.
Natural beauty and its friendliness are at the heart of everything you’ll love about Hervey Bay. The pristine beaches and waters of the bay are calm, safe, clear and rival any top-listed beaches of the world. When you arrive at the 16 km long Esplanade and are gazing at the unbelievable aqua sea and white sand, your breath will slow and your body will relax. What an amazing place.
Hervey Bay is also the gateway to World Heritage-listed K’gari (Fraser Island) and Lady Elliot Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. It is also uniquely home to the world’s first Whale Heritage Site – the only place where thousands of Humpback Whales stop during their migration between July and October to rest, socialise and play with their calves in the warm shallow waters off Hervey Bay and K’gari (Fraser Island). Hervey Bay truly is Australia’s capital for Whale Watching.

Andrew is a passionate fifth-generation local who has experienced everything “Happy Hervey” has to offer. His childhood was spent exploring and 4WDriving on K’gari, boating, fishing and diving in the Great Sandy Strait, and having family fun days at Torquay Beach in Hervey Bay. His love for this paradise was shared with his wife Susan when he proposed marriage to her in Lake McKenzie on K'gari back in 2005.
Susan originally hails from Far North Queensland and thought no where else could beat its reef and rainforest. However, when Andrew guided her around his paradise she was overcome with the uniqueness, variety and natural beauty of the area. Whilst Susan has been an avid global traveller, her favourite destination and home will always be Hervey Bay & K'gari.
